Free Under the Elastic License 2.0

BW2's platform is free under the Elastic License 2.0, with source included. You own the applications you build. Hosting, Management Tools and co-creation have separate commercial terms.

How Licensing Works The BW2 Difference
  • Build with your own team without a platform royalty or revenue share.
  • Choose optional Managed Hosting or Management Tools for self-hosting. Usage-based third-party services are charged separately.
  • Co-creation includes an agreed software revenue share in exchange for BW2's engineering contribution.

In Manual Mode, discovery is free for up to 1,000 production databases per solution. Above that allowance, a flat license is agreed with the solution publisher — never per user. Non-production databases and databases covered by Managed Hosting or Management Tools do not count toward the allowance.
